Connor's 2 year pictures

I FINALLY got Connor's 2 year pictures taken. Only 5 months late :) I have posted a few even though I only ordered one pose-the $7.99 Target special! He is pretty stinkin' cute if I do say so myself.

Lake Patoka Trip

Daddy & Taylor napping after the "big storm"
Connor got in for a minute but I think he was crying to get back out at this point
Taylor about to go down the slide on the boat (not sure about the goggles)

Grandpa & Connor-Connor would not leave the driver's seat-maybe he'll be a boat captain some day!

Grandma, Austin, Grandpa & Connor winding down watching Cars before bedtime

This past weekend, my dad & Carla treated us to a weekend at Lake Patoka and even rented a boat for us to go out on for the day on Saturday. (thanks!) We had a good time, even though the weather was icky. We even got stuck out on the water in a storm (thunder, lightening, strong winds and heavy rain). That part was a bit traumatizing, especially to the kids, but we made it in okay eventually. My Aunt Jeri, Uncle Jim and their son Josh also live down there so they took their boat out Saturday also and visited with us for the weekend. It was really good to see them-it has been a while! Somehow though I didn't manage to get very many pictures taken. I didn't get any of my aunt & uncle or of the whole crew hanging in the lake. I'm just happy that our camera didn't get ruined in the "storm". Todd was thoughtful enough to pack all of our belongings in a trash bag because we knew there was a chance of rain. I was holding that bad boy shut for dear life when it started raining-and it worked-everything in the bag was dry. The camera is supposed to be waterproof but I didn't really feel like "testing it out".

Week of July 20-24

Daddy, Connor & Taylor at the Indians game!
Taylor & Grace putting on their "show" in the backyard.
A VERY close up, Boo-Radley shot of my 28 week preggo belly! Notice a difference in color between my arms and stomach?
Aidan & Taylor playing during their sleepover.

Me and the boys after Taylor's make-over. Love the lipstick! You can't tell but I have about 10 coats of eye shadow on.
Another fun and busy week for us! I am so not looking to school starting in two weeks when we will be in a boring routine.
  • Monday night we went to the Indians game. It is the only one we've been to all summer; we weren't sure how Connor would do and they are actually kinda expensive to take the whole family. But we have been participating in the summer reading program at the library and one of the things you could use your points for was a buy one get one free tix to the game, so that is what we did! Connor did better than we thought he would but he was still high maintenance because he is not yet focused enough to actually care about the baseball game. He kept taking his shoes off and was barefoot in the stands. Then, jokingly, Todd told him to lick his feet and that is exactly what he did! Funny how he chooses then to actually do what we say :)
  • Grace came over to play this week and her and Taylor put on a concert singing their songs they learned at Vacation Bible School last week. Grace was the singer, Taylor the guitar player/singer and Connor jumped in w/ the drums every once in a while. Wish I had gotten out the video camera-it was great!
  • Emily watched the kiddos for me while I had my long doctor's appt. (28 week gluclose and anemica test-all came back fine!) Thanks Em!
  • Aidan came to spend the night with us on Wednesday night. It was the first time Taylor had a friends spend the night (other than his cousin Mikey) and it was the first sleepover for Aidan at a friend's house, but it went great and the boys had a lot of fun! They made their own pizzas for dinner, played legos and Indiana Jones and then watched Indiana Jones. They both wore their star wars jammies to bed :)
  • Taylor gave me another great make-over with my make-up! I actually secretly like being "made-up". Not because of how I look afterwards b/c it is usually pretty over the top but because it is nice to sit there. Now, if I could just train him to do pedicures......

Week of July 13-17

Boys playing in the fun sandbox that daddy built up and made a side bench to sit on
Slide, slide, slippety slide
Mikey & Taylor in the pool

Connor at the pool
Connor, Mikey & Taylor playing on swingset

We had such a fun and busy week this week! It was such a perfect summer week. Taylor had vacation bible school (VBS) all week. He went to VBS at our neighbor's/friend's church because Grace invited him and it worked better w/ our schedule than the VBS that our church is putting on. Our neighbor/friend, Angie was the director and she did a great job w/ Crocodile Dock and Taylor had a blast! He also decided to give his heart to Jesus this week and we are very proud of him for making that decision! Some other exciting things we got to do this week include:
  • Go to our neighborhood pool (obviously a weekly occasion).
  • Went to the Splash park with the Hutcherson crew.
  • Play in the slip n' slide, sandbox and swingset in the backyard.
  • The boys had their cousin Mikey over to hang out all day and we went swimming at the pool (again) and played outside and the boys played a little Wii.
  • Emily and the kids (including Tessa and Easton) came over Friday to hang out and have lunch.
  • I got to have a girls dinner with Becca, Kim, Sara and Nicole. It was so nice to have adult conversation and enjoy dinner :) We also got to find out that Kim is having a boy and a girl (twins obviously)-yay! Thanks to Becca for using her gift card for our dinner! And thanks to my mom for watching Connor so I could go!
  • Had dinner at my sister's house and got Austin's old crib for the new baby! (Thanks for dinner & the crib Ali!)
  • This weekend we went to the Jeff & Carrie's for an "adult" get together. It was so much fun to hang out with old friends-we had a great time! Thanks to my mom & D for watching the boys overnight!

Week of July 6th-12th

Aidan, Taylor, Tessa, Izzy, & Connor playing in the pool
Izzy & Connor = DOUBLE TROUBLE
Connor & Dylan getting ready for their pony ride (Troy made a guest appearance in this pic)

Taylor riding the "big" pony at the zoo

Taylor on top of a very large army truck at the Three Rivers Festival
Connor & Dylan at the Three Rivers Festival

Last week we:

  • Lounged and played around home (and we broke our slip n slide so daddy had to get a new one)
  • We went to our neighborhood pool
  • We played at the Hutcherson's house TWO times and Taylor spent the night there Wednesday night. The boys had tons of fun!
  • I had a 26 week check up-all was well. Connor went with me and we were in and out of there. Next one is scheduled next week, I am on the every two weeks schedule now and I will do my gluclose test next week as well.
  • We were supposed to have a play date at the Splash Park with Kim & Ben and Sara & Kyla but Kim had to go into work on Friday instead.....boo hoo :(
  • We went to Ft. Wayne for the weekend to see Todd's family. Friday night we had dinner, went for ice cream and had a fireworks show. Connor was so scared at the fireworks show I had to finally take him inside after he ran up to the porch screaming w/ his hands over his face (so sad!)
  • Saturday we went to the zoo and the Three Rivers Festival.

Above are some pics of our week and weekend adventures.

St. Louis Trip-Fourth of July

At the fireworks show

St. Louis Arch

Meeting Yogi Bear
Roasting marshmallows for smores
Todd trying to show Connor how to play miniature golf
Too bad he would rather climb on animals and run around
Watching the seal lion show
Riding the train at the zoo
St. Louis Zoo
So, Mamaw & Papaw took us to St. Louis for the weekend! Derrick had a family reunion at his aunt's house there so we went to that and did some other things around St. Louis. We stayed at Jellystone Park so we went swimming, played miniature golf, played in the arcade, had a small campfire and made smores, woke Yogi up from his cave and met him. We TRIED to ride the train that goes around the campground but people were RUTHLESS w/ this thing. People literally jumped in front of others to get on the train-it was quite ridiculuous so even though the boys were disappointed not to ride, we skipped it b/c I was just not going to stoop to the level of pushing and shoving......We also went to the St. Louis zoo while we were there, saw fireworks in the town of Eureka (the rain stopped for a few hours and they barely got he fireworks in , but they did!) and went up into the St. Louis Arch (well, Taylor & Todd did) and walked around by the river and had lunch in downtown St. Louis. It was a fun time-thanks Mamaw & Papaw (mom & Derrick). Oh, and to NO ONE's SURPRISE, Connor BROKE something at Derrick's aunts house. And I didn't post about his little antics last week where he flooded Mamaw & Papaw's bathroom and locked himself in my car in a matter of 20 minutes. :)
