RANDOM

Just a post with some random pictures, random events in no particular order-kinda like being inside my head.
Mamaw playing with Connor in his fire truck. The water stain is from Connor wiping his ketchup mouth on her arm.
Taylor had his Winter Carnival at school last week.
I highly recommend window markers-so fun!

...and colors for the bathtub

Took a trip to the Childrens Museum. Taylor is technically too old for the playscape area now but Connor still loves it so we will just pretend Taylor is still five.

Connor got his picture taken on all of the Bob the Builder characters.

I got to go in and help with Taylor's "Friendship Party" for Valentines Day at school.

Kim and the twins (Josie & Samuel) came to visit! In this picture all three babies are screaming crying. Would have been much better in a video.
I included this because Taylor just randomly (word of the day) got the camera to take my picture because he thought it was hilarious that I was sitting on the bean bag on the sofa. I think it is hilarious that he already has the knack to grab a camera to capture a moment-just like his momma!!

My SWEET Valentines

We made cards for the grandparents this year that included each of the kiddos w/ their heart faces and the one of all three of them holding the I Love You signs. These are my precious, wonderful, sweet (sometimes) Valentines and I cherish them.

Dress from Izzy that doesn't really fit her but has hearts on it and is super cute-a-licious; as is my cutie pie!
If that sweet little face holding her big brother's hand isn't a perfect description of love, I don't know what is!!

FOOTBALL

So I made these fun treats for a Superbowl party and they turned out pretty well. I got the idea from my friend Kim; I think her recipe might include peanut butter so they are probably better, but the recipe for these is on the back of the Cocoa Krispies box (minus shaping them into footballs and putting icing laces on the top).

3 Tbs. butter
1 10.5 oz pkg mini-marshmallows
6 cups Cocoa Krispies (I used 7 cups or more....)
White icing

Melt butter into a pot on medium heat. Add package of marshamallows and melt completely (stir together). Add Cocoa Krispies and mix together. Spray hands with cooking spray and shape into footballs. Add icing laces when finished.

She's got her catching stance down!

1 Sucess, 1 not so much

First dentist appointment for C a SUCCESS! I was very apprehensive about how this appointment was going to go. We all know how, ahem, "vibrant" he can be. The dental hygenist did mention that he got a little "fidgety" towards the end...who Connor? fidgety? HA! You must be talking about someone else's kid; mine is the one who sits in the chair perfectly still and doesn't talk or move unless you tell him to" Oh wait, back to reality, sorry, did you say fidgety? As far as adjectives go, I'll take fidgety! Since earlier in the day that adjective could have been "crazy, out of control, oh-my-gosh-did-you-see-that-kid" The first thing the dentist asked me was "does Connor suck his thumb?" YES and it has been the BEST thing ever-he may be challenging in a lot of areas, but he is the BEST SLEEPER ever and I attribute it to the thumb sucking! And now I will be paying for those moments of sleep in the form of orthodontia bills-is it bad to say it was worth it??? She then followed up with "90% of kids get braces anyway" = thumb sucking worth it for sure! :)

I was also getting my teeth cleaned so by the time I got over there with a camera, he was done, so I only got a shot of the treasure box after the cleaning and exam.
The 1 not so much comment was referring to Connor's public interaction with people NOT being a SUCCESS. Although I know it may be overwhelming, confusing and annoying when a strange adult raises their voice to the pitch of "only used when talking to young children", but that is no excuse for Connor to respond by head-butting her in the stomach, then throwing punches. I was shocked, mortified, embarassed, horrified, and wanted to hide behind the closest large object or run away as fast as I could. Instead I chose to apologize (you know, do the right thing) to the women and scold my child. She was very understanding "oh, he's just being a boy". WHAT? Are you aware that you just got head-butted and punched or did I just imagine that whole scene? Please tell me I imagined that whole scene......

Needless to say, we will be in the house the rest of the week NOT interacting with the public; for their safety and my sanity.

Boooo RSV!

I wanted to get on here to post about Claire being 4 months old, but unfortunately I have to share a very sad picture of her and her breathing treatments. I took her to the doctor on Sunday be/c she had an icky cough and she tested positive for RSV (respiratory some word I can't remember virus) which is really running rampid right now-it is basically a lower respiratory tract infection. It is so sad because she coughs and then cries as if it hurts. She also has a double ear infection so she is on antibiotics twice a day and breathing treatments three times a day. Ahhhh, the memories. Taylor used to have to do breathing treatments frequently when he was a baby (pretty much every time he got sick he got it bad in his chest-they said he was asthmatic but somehow outgrew it-THANK GOD!) I have included a picture of Taylor getting his first treatment below Claire's. We went back to the doctor today and they said she is doing better already and her oxygen saturation levels are good and her wheezing sounds better so they are positive she will be fine soon-the doctor said we are officially allowed around people again starting Thursday :) We are happy to have gotten the best outcome possible with RSV!
