Strawberry pickin

We picked strawberries the other day at a local farm! It was fun and the strawberries were DELICIOUS! I highly recommend the experience. Don't they look yummalicious? $1.49 per pound.

Hotdogs in the Garden

We have a garden! Thank you to my wonderful husband for digging and planting a garden for me! The boys helped, and Claire and I supervised. Connor looked at the package of carrots and asked daddy "are we planting hotdogs in our garden?" He is holding his "garden hotdogs" up for you to see! We are ametuers at this garden thing so we aren't sure what will actually pop up, but we planted: lettuce, spinach, carrots, peppers, green beans and tomatoes. YES all in this little space :)

Proud Momma (keep on rolling)

Taylor finished Kindergarten this week. WHAT? FINISHED? You might be thinking, didn't he just start last week? At least that is what I am thinking. This year FLEW by. And now my big guy is going to be in first grade. He's going to eat lunch at school. He is going to have art, music and gym at school. Everyday for 180 days a year for the next 12 years; maybe I won't put it to him that way-might kill the enthusiasm! :) Taylor got an Academic Excellence award for being a smarty pants and his teacher also created special awards to fit each child so he also got an Awesome Artist award for doing such detailed and creative pictures in his journal. His teacher was EXCELLENT this year and I am so thankful for that. She even came to his baseball game this past weekend, which was really special for Taylor. Taylor is now a READER and even reads the bedtime books sometimes if he can. He read "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" the other day to me. It took a while to get through, but he is determined and if you tell him the word while he is still figuring it out he gets M-A-D. First grade, here we come! (sigh)

Why does Connor have two beds?

Contrary to what you might think based on this picture-we are not hoarders. There are not so many things piled up in our house that no one has anywhere to sleep. In reality, this is what happens during naptime when your 3 year old won't stay in bed. I come in to get him up and he has gone through his drawers and closet and pulled out things to pile on his bed. Not to mention he is wearing pajamas on over his clothes (backwards) and different socks on top of the socks he is already wearing. AND, he is alseep. NO WONDER-all this mischief wore him out! Now you know why Connor has two beds-we can't always trust him to be without the bars. I actually like the bars. I don't worry when he is in his "cage". Oh wait, did I just type that? I meant crib not cage.

Mother's Day Part Two

Todd made a book on Kodakgallery (www.kodakgallery.com) for me that starts "Let us tell you why we love you" and ends with "Happy Mother's Day to the best mommy in the world!" BE STILL MY HEART. Absolutely awesome Mother's Day gift. And yes, I cried (duh-have you met me? well maybe not if you are my stalker, but I highly doubt I have any stalkers) I have strategically not included any shots of the pages that include me back when I looked like I ate myself.

Taylor made me this at school. Notice how his hands are making a heart. He said "I didn't make a very good heart but I tried my best" in the sweetest voice.
I love how he thinks of a rainbow with hearts when thinking of me!
And this is him picking flowers for me. I want to freeze the moment when he so proudly gave me his card and present he made at school. He has been anxiously waiting to give it to me for THREE WHOLE DAYS. I also want to bottle the feeling I felt when he shared this with me. Sigh. LOVE

I.LOVE.BEING.A.MOM

The boys got me a talking Mothers Day card-I want to be able to hear these sweet little voices anytime so I recorded it before Connor breaks it-he thinks it's a toy :) Push the play arrow underneath the black screen to start.

Field trip to the hospital

We went on a field trip with Taylor's Kindergarten class to the hospital.

Putting a cast on Goofy's broken leg.

Goofy is sick-time for an emergency room visit.

Goofy is getting his anesthesia for his tonsilectomy.

It's been a rough day for Goofy!
