College roomies!
Jennifer and I at the game!

I know you have all been sitting on the edge of your seats wondering "why hasn't she posted anything in TWO WHOLE WEEKS!  That is a lifetime of waiting!  I know, I know, settle down...I'm back!  Husband and I went to IU Homecoming a couple of weeks ago with my college roomie Jennifer (one of my BFF's since junior high) and her husband.  It wasn't "wild and crazy, relive my college days" but that is okay-I am more into low key events the older I get.  I will save the wild and crazy times for perhaps once a year.  It was fun!  I got to see two of my old roomates from college, Jeremy and Josh, and catch up with them and their lives.  We went to Yogi's (for any of you IU alums reading this), which we used to live around the corner from our senior year and spent way too much time there.  It has changed a lot since then, as have we, so the experience is definitely not the same!  Sitting in a bar with loud and rowdy college kids and not being those loud and rowdy college kids, doesn't feel quite the same!  But the company was good so it didn't really matter!

The Par-tay!

Me on my 1st bday (that is my mom in the background-isn't she pretty?)
Claire awaiting her own little cake

Claire's #1 cake
Claire's name spelled in cupcakes with the movies we made her playing in the background.  It is just a slideshow of pictures of her first year set to music w/ a video of her laughing for the first time at the end.  It turned out really cute!
A little pinata fun!

Birthday Princess

Claire's birthday bash was a success!  Lots of our family and friends came to celebrate with her!  We had chicken and noodles with rolls and apples with carmel dip, cupcakes, cake and ice cream.  We had a birthday pinata that we sorta failed at breaking open-but the kids all got their goodies and that is what counts!  It wasn't raining so the dads and older kids got to play outside in the bouncy (not that dads-at least I don't think)...and football.  We are so lucky to have so many special people in our lives to share the day with.  I found a picture of me at my first birthday when I was at my moms the other day and didn't even know that I had a cake shaped like a #1 just like the one I made for Claire (well, except for my mom made a super huge one that she pieced together herself and mine is from a #1 mold).  Oh and sorry mom for stealing the picture-I will put it back where I found it.  Thank you to all of our friends and family that came to celebrate with us!

Go Hoosiers!

We took the kids to a football game of our alma mater thanks to our friends, The Mitchens, who have season tickets and couldn't go!  We had a great time!  Taylor and daddy played in the new kids zone and Connor enjoyed watching the band.  Claire didn't know what to look at because there was so much going on.  There was a feeling of nostalgia seeing the college kids "tailgating" before the game.  Todd and I both have a lot of memories on that campus, albeit different from each others since we didn't meet until AFTER college.  Driving through campus with our 3 kids in a world so far removed from those days.  I think it would be great if at least one (if not all three) kids went to college there, but I will be happy wherever they go-as long as they GO.  OH, and by the way-when did college girls stop wearing clothes???

I love this shot-the boys are trying to get Claire to clap!  She is actually too busy watching the game :)
